Introduction
The purpose of this tutorial is to provide a step-by-step guide to install IBM Rational Suite 9.1 on Windows operating system. It is assumed that you have obtained a legal, licensed copy of the IBM Rational Software and either have the DVD’s or software downloaded to a common folder named RSA-9.1.
- After downloading or copying the installation files to the RSA-9.1 folder, navigate to the \RSA-9.1\RSA_Setup\ folder.
- Select the appropriate folder for your Windows Operating System:
- For 32-Bit Windows: InstallerImage_win32_win32_x86
- For 64-Bit Windows: InstallerImage_win32_win32_x86_64
- Run the install.exe program as shown below:

- The IBM Installation Manager will open up:

- Once the Installation Manager open up, un-check the Installation Packages for “IBM Websphere Application Server…”. So now only IBM Installation Manager and IBM Rational Software Architect 9.1 will be selected. Click the Next> button to continue.

- You may get a “Validation Results” page like the one shown below. You can ignore this and click the Next> button to continue.
